Ingredients
- 200g lean sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 cup cooked jasmine rice
- 1 cup mixed frozen vegetables (broccoli florets, julienned carrots, snap peas)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 1 tsp minced ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp cornstarch
- Pinch of black pepper
- Optional: Toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Prep: In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, mirin, minced ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, cornstarch, and black pepper. Add the thinly sliced sirloin steak and toss to coat. Let marinate for 5-10 minutes.
- Divide the cooked jasmine rice between two microwave-safe bowls.
- Layer the marinated beef slices over the rice in each bowl.
- Distribute the mixed frozen vegetables evenly over the beef in each bowl.
- Cover each bowl with a microwave-safe lid or microwave-safe plastic wrap, leaving a small vent.
- Microwave one bowl at a time on high for 3-5 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through and the vegetables are tender-crisp. Repeat for the second bowl.
- Carefully remove the bowls from the microwave. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired.
