Ingredients
- 2 (4oz) salmon fillets, skin on
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 green onion pancakes (store-bought or homemade, 4-inch diameter)
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced, for garnish
- Optional: chili flakes for a touch of heat
Instructions
- Prep: Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and season generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Once shimmering, place the salmon fillets skin-side down.
- Sear for 5-7 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden brown. Flip and cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
- While the salmon cooks, heat the green onion pancakes. You can pan-fry them for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy, or air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 5-7 minutes.
- Warm the hoisin sauce in the microwave for 15-20 seconds or in a small saucepan over low heat.
- To assemble, place a green onion pancake on each plate. Top with a crispy salmon fillet. Drizzle generously with warm hoisin sauce.
- Garnish with thinly sliced green onions and a sprinkle of chili flakes if desired. Serve immediately.
